Dots — example.com becomes example[.]com Protocol — http becomes hxxp Protocol separator — http:// becomes http[://]

How the protocol options behave

The two protocol options need a full URL. If the input has no :// — for example a bare hostname such as example.com — the tool reports an error instead of producing a misleading result. Undefang always reverses every combination, so it needs no options.
